What is the Duolingo English Test?
In simple terms, this is an online English proficiency test that can be completed in about an hour. Since it's conducted online, you can take it anytime and anywhere, including the comfort of your own bedroom. It is recognized by thousands of universities worldwide as a valid measure of English proficiency. Therefore, if you are not a native English speaker, you can use the score report from the Duolingo English Test to demonstrate your English skills when applying to your preferred universities. Compared to traditional exams like TOEFL and IELTS, the DET provides significant flexibility. You can choose your exam time freely, and it is also more affordable, costing only $65 for a single test. If you opt to purchase two tests at once, the total comes to $115, which reduces the cost to $55 per test. Overall, it serves as a flexible and cost-effective option for assessing English language proficiency.

1. You can purchase the test up to three times every 30 days.
2. The scores are in multiples of 5, ranging from 10 to 160 points.
